Gentlemen,

does someone around here know how to tighten the aperture ring of an industar-50?

Maybe one of the two sloted rings around the lens??

Thanks

Michael

The ring is in the very front of the lens.

EDIT. Heh, I got the question wrong. I thought you were asking how to change the aperture.

I've asked myself that question too.
Any recommendations?

I don't know. But want to "hear" the answer too.
Which I-50, though, the rigid or the collapsible? It may make a difference.

You're right, sorry.

I was asking about the collapsible.

Well, WD-40 helped me. Just spray some and leave it over-night. It got tightened on mine.

I hope it won't harm the lens.

WD40 sounds kinda risky (it could get in every corner of your lens)

Well it didn't affect images. But it's a non-collapsible.

Try Jay Javier's page:

This will tell you how to get at the aperture ring. Apply some grease (non-creeping sort!) to the moving parts to stiffen it up.
