More testing and reviews on its way. I am particularly curious about the gray ink that will have its separate cartridge in order to enhance black-and-white printing...

Nothing new in having a separate cartridge for gray ink. My old HP 7960 has a separate gray cartridge that goes in place of the black one when printing for B&W. It works very well so this new printer might be very good indeed.

I got a D5160 out of curiosity to try the A100 grey cartridge, it is pretty good. Good enough for me to abandon the MIS inks in my old Epson Photo 750.

Okay, great, didn't know about the gray ink being around for a long time. I am still doing wet prints so not really up to date with this.

Sorry, didn't mean to be abrupt. I only meant to indicate that it is not a new idea and even when applied in an older model it is very good. You can see some printer reviews here http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/printers_page.htm that may help give you an idea of what using a dedicated gray cartridge can do.

No offence taken! I really appreciate getting tips from people experienced in these fields I know much less about. So thanks for the adequate replies and I am checking that review-link right now.
