Hi folks,

I know this qualifies me as an idiot, but I can't figure out how to get the yellow filter off my VC 21 lens. What am I missing? Obviously I tried unscrewing the lip overhanging the filter, but it doesn't turn. Then I tried unscrewing the filter itself, but it's recessed like 3 mm and I can't get a grip on it without touching the filter and pushing down, which feels all wrong. Any help would be appreciated. I have a history of trying something, applying too much force, and breaking it. Thanks.....John

John,
What I do:
With the lens cap on, I gently push with my palm towards the camera body and turn the cap which will also turn the small hood on the 21, then after that's off, it is easy to grasp the filter and remove it.
I think you could deform the hood if you put too much pressure on it side ways.

Sounds like you have the LTM lens and left the hood on.

Put the cap back on. Then unscrew the hood with the cap.

Then you can unscrew the filter.

Best,

Roland.

Awesome! Thanks guys, using my palm and the lid on, the hood unscrewed effortlessly, and the filter easily after that. Thanks much. --John
