Was it gold plated?
Good grief, what's the extra $345.00 for, handling fees?

OK, it was owned by LBJ, right.

He says it is a very rare camera of which less than 100 were made..
Some people are stupid enough to believe it too..
Those guys obviously don't know what they have on their hands!
Those guys obviously don't know what they have on their hands!
Most pawn shops are like that..
This could be the start of something big! I'll have to get my Instamatic to them.
I paid $10 for mine, used, 20+ years ago... so that does seem slightly excessive! I'm not an Argus collector, so I don't know, but it's conceivable that there were rare variations that would appeal to someone. There's an active Argus collector group in the Tacoma area that puts up an interesting display at the big annual camera show in Puyallup WA.
Speaking Instamatics, someone at that camera show two years ago gave me an Instamatic 304!

It won't sell. The Pawns in my area price their cameras at Mint condition prices. They keep a running list of the hightest ebay prices. The manager showed it to me.

sheesh, sheet, whatever.
I saw one for $50 at a now-out-of-business antique store (no wonder). It was beautiful, but not irrationally. Sitting next to a non-descript 620 folder with folding arms so badly bent it wouldn't close (or open). $125 on that one.
I have 3 different C3's around the house (can't find any at the moment), and periodically ask myself why I don't get rid of 2. I can't decide which 1 to keep.
2 with manuals that have 1950's copyrights (different manals with different model posing with camera), and different number of shutter speeds (one has 7 I think, something like 1/10, 1/20, 1/30, etc. odd series ($$$ at the pawn shop, eh?) and a Matchmatic.
I've noticed people selling C-3's on eBay recently with the (LC-3?) lightmeter attached but decribed as a flash (almost funny).
