Considering that looks like a plastic lens cap, I would think this is just a cheap knock off. :D :D

Would be a real shame to use that one. ;)
This seems even crazier:

Or people who use the PimpZilla (http://www.pimpzilla.nl/install.php) theme in their web browsers.

They produced 2000 kits with the LX 2000 and that lens for the Millenium. It was not sold seperately. It is metal construction and has a hood and lens cap similar the the 43mm Ltd. Otherwise, it is the same optically as the "A" version.

I want that set-up!
Damn Kim...
I thought getting an LX2000 was pretty much next to impossible.. I'm so jealous. I thought that finding a good conditioned black LX was a find!
is it just me or did every major camera manufacturer from the 80s make a "gold" version. There were a two gold Vivitar series one in OM mount for sale at a local camera swap a year or so ago..... came close to buying it just because.

I was lucky, I caught it just as the dealer put it up on his website and phoned immediately. If I had thought, I would probably have missed it. The gold ones seem to come up at regular intervals but that is not surprising as they are a bit ..... The LX2000s do apperar now and then. A certain seller in Germany has advertied one but he was asking around $4500 which is over the top. A couple appeared in Japan about a year ago. One remained unsold at $2800 and the other went for around $3200 which seems to be the going rate. The really difficult ones to find are the Ltd and Titanium. Now if I can get one of those, I will be a happy bunny!
As to the black ones, they are not hard to find even in good order. I just sold a near mint serviced MkII one a month ago. I am keeping my original MkI version but the second MkII may also go. However, unless you know it has been serviced in the last few years, you will have to budget to get it done. It also needs to be done by someone who is used to LXs. About the only person in the UK I would trust is Robin at Harrow Technical. To do the job properly, they have to go quite deeply into the camera so when it is put back together, it really needs the weather seals replacing. Robin gets the correct material in from Japan. Many repairers will just replace the damper foam which cured the sticky shutter for a couple of years but it then comes back. Properly serviced, they should go for 20 years before needing it again. Certainly that is my experience. Overall the cost is about £90 in the UK which is about half the cost of servicing a Leica at CRR and lasts about the same time.
