It seems that most of the pre-war Leica cameras kicking about are missing their knurled shutter-release collar...

Is there are source for OEM-style repros ?

Thanks,

Hi Frank,

There is a source in Japan for a repro. collar. They come from "nobbysparrow" on that auction site. If you type in his name as a seller it should come up. He doesn't always have them listed, but look around his "about me" stuff or email him. good luck with your project.

Some of the replacement collars are rather chunky by comparison with the originals. I have made one or two out of bicycle tyre valve parts (which are nickel plated).

Talk about ironing your jeans!!!

Here is something to look into as an alternative

Soft Release (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/67504-REG/General_Brand_NPUSRN_Soft_Shutter_Release_for.html )
