How wide are the edges?

The CL rocks in so many ways but I'm wondering about the viewfinder.

What frames does it have and how wide are the edges. I mean if I were to buy a wider lens than the 40, how wide could I go without loosing?

If I mount a 35mm framed lens on her (a modified 40), what frame lines would come up?

I believe that a 35mm would bring up the 40 frame lines and also the area outside the frame lines would be roughly equivalent to the 35....

The 40mm frameline is fixed - always there whatever lens you put on. The 50mm frame is always there UNLESS you put on a 28mm or 90mm lens in which case the 50mm frame is replaced with the 90mm frame. Ie the only 2 possibilities are 40/50 or 40/90. So it doesn't matter at all if your 40mm lens is modified or not.

I'd agree that the full frame is pretty close to 35mm.

I've just compared my CL with a couple of cameras with 35mm frames, and I agree that the CL's full viewfinder looks just about right for 35mm.
