I just pulled my old IIIG out and have decided I want it fully restored to working order.

Who's the best in the U.S.A. for body work? I'm going to let Sherry Krauter do the lens as it's going on my M8.

Three U.S. names that always come up are -- in alphabetical order -- Don Goldberg, Sherry Krauter, Youxin Ye.

A Barnack? First John Maddox comes to mind, then Youxin Ye. John will take a while, Youxin will have the camera back in a couple of weeks. Search here for Youxin there are a lot of threads. For John do a search on his name over at PN. Also see the link below, the post by Jay Jul 23, 2004; 11:29 a.m. encapsulates what John can do very well. Jay knew what he was talking about:

Youxin is the only one I can vouch for personally ... he has done seven cameras for me now and four of them were LTM. He seems a lot less expensive that the other two mentioned and his turnaround is excellent. :)

Don Goldberg did a fantastic job my IIIg earlier this year. Be prepared for a wait though. It took about three months.

Youxin did a great job on an M2 of mine recently with a turn around of under two weeks. That included time he had to wait for a new covering to be shipped to him. If I had not had it recovered the turn around would have been about a week.
