I'm looking at a early 8xx,xxx M3 DS and a 50 summilux 60's vintage. It has not had a recent cla. It seems used with wear, dings and paint chips - but working well.

Help arriving at a fair price would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Around US 1200 if the Summilux is clean. Give or take US 100.

Best,

Roland.

My 1966 Bargain grade Summilux was $700.

My 1966 Bargain grade Summilux was $700.

Was the glass clean? Any "cleaning marks"?

I am trying to make sure I could sell the lens and be left with a fair M3 for the price IF the Summilux is not better than my cheapo CV Nokton! (other wise the CV goes, of course)

Thanks

Just an update - I did buy the camera and lens yesterday - the lens was a version 1 after all. It seems to be in good shape. The lens looks to perform ok with my M8.

Thanks for the info

Here are some pictures of the M3 and lens. Wow this thing really feels solid.

Does the hood look correct?

Thanks

Great set. The hood looks to be a Nikkor 50/1.4 hood. You can put series or
49mm filters in it .... if I remember right 55mm lens cap. If it is, they are not cheap :)

Cheers,

Roland.

Thanks Roland - it may well be Nikon.

BTW, this M3 still has the wax seal in the mount - pretty rare I undertand for a 1957 model, no?

It does ok on my M8 - but my CV 50 is sharper wide open I think, but the CV is also more contrasty. Of course this from just playing around tonight...
