Hi there,
Can anyone give me any recomendations for servicing and repair in the UK? I have heard quite alot of horror stories about some companies, and would be keen to hear your opinions/recomendations please?

CRR in Luton are excellent, here is the web address but contact by phone is much the best way.

Another vote for CRR. Peter is probably one of the best Leica technician's in Europe. I have had several repairs done by Peter and I have yet to hear of anybody who was not happy with his work. His prices are fair though perhaps not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The only downside is that he does tend to have a waiting list as a result.

I had my M3 serviced by Leica UK, who did an excellent, thorough job at a reasonable price. As I like to share work around I sent my M2 to Malcolm Taylor who also did a very good job and again at a reasonable price. Of the two I would certainly use Malcolm again as his communication is far better and one is dealing with a craftsman rather than a corporation, which is always more pleasureable.
He doesn't appear to have a website but does advertise in the back of Amateur Photographer - he can be reached on 015 6877 0542.
