View Full Version : wanted: good repairman for Leica IIIc
JUst got my first Leica...God help me :D ...it needs a little work, sticky shutter release, slow speeds off, lens apeture blades sticky, possible curtain patch/replacement.
Who's the best with the fairest pricing for fixing the old stuff?
OOPS...put this in the wrong forum....shouldn't try doing anything on a Sunday morn till I've had my coffee.....

at least 60 days since I bought my first.
I sent mine in right away to Youxin Ye. He was fast, inexpensive, and my new II has the BEST sounding shutter now.
There are many links to his contact points here and through search engines. I was delighted with his work and professionalism.

I agree ... Youxin is great but he doesn't do lens work. If you want the lens done you could ask Youxin if he will forward it to DAG for you who could do the lens while Youxin does your camera ... the alternative would be to give the whole job to DAG but you will be waiting a fair bit longer for completion as I have read on this forum that there is a minimum three week delay on repairs at the moment! :)
ps ... Youxin's email wye7@yahoo.com

My project 'Half Race" Leica IIIC is going to Youxin Ye shortly as well, for new covering, curtains and full CLA
I`ve heard nothing but wonderful things about him and his work :)

A fourth for Youxin. He did a wonderful job on a IIIC for me. Very reasonable price, quick turnaround, great communication. Wish I was more interested in the Barnacks because he lives near Boston.
