Or however that quote goes. :p

Ended up with not just one but TWO bum Konicas off ebay. Got a chance to take them for a test drive and BOTH jammed within a half dozen frames. The TC didn't really JAM per se, but it started doing a thing where it fires the shutter as you wind it. Every 5-6 shots it would 'catch' and let you fire the shutter normally. The T just _froze_ and a rap on the bottom would release the shutter for the next 1-2 frames.

I've used ebay for a LONG time, and never had any trouble. Now I get burned two auctions in a row (the first one refunded 100%, waiting to hear back on this particular one). My innocence is gone. :(

So any suggestions on how I can approach fixing these unless the seller wants them back?

For any SLR needing attention I always choose Matt at Authorized Camera Repair in the Philly area.

He kept my F4S's in top shape when they were getting heavy daily use, and was always a pleasure to deal with. Pretty fast turnaround too, although it has been a while since I've needed his expertise.

I honestly can't see pouring money into any of these, so I will attempt the work myself. :) I mean, I can probably find a nicely working one for half what it'll cost me to get the busted one repaired, so it's not really worth it... thanks for the recommendation though!

Hi cmedin, I'm so sorry about your two dud konicas.
If it's any consolation, have you seen this one on ebay?

I absolutely love my TC, so if this one have the high likelyhood of working, I think the price is reasonable.

That looks like a really nice one. I might hold off for a bit though since the RB67 is inbound and I'll probably spend a fair amount of time with it. :)

Heard back from the seller, and he was very apologetic and ask that I send them back so he can repair them before putting them up again. I was half hoping he'd just offer a partial refund or something since the lenses are quite pretty, but no such luck!
