Title pretty much sums it up. I made it a poll so you could stay anonymous if you want ;) ;) ,nudge nudge.
Where is the "who is Bill W" option?

That would be a No vote, Bill W. was a Co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. I commonly see posts on the forum about "drink a virtual beer" or "I'm drinking _____" fill in the blank, which I'm all for by the way (have one for me:D ). So I was just curious if there are others who don't drink, like myself.
Ah, gotcha. I'll have one for you then. :)

Doc's prescription: stay off the stuff for a while. And I only have a glass of wine with dinner... but there seems to be something with my liver, so, I'm a teetotaler for a while.
Reluctantly.
I have missed those threads somehow. But I guess i'm no friend of Bill W. I don't drink anymore nor have I ever been to an AA meeting.

If you're drunk you can't focus.
What in the world would alcoholism have to do with rangefinder cameras???
Having had someone very close to me be an alcoholic, I can understand the question.

I have had drunks embezzle money, ruin my business, act out, etc. but none have changed the way I use rangefinder cameras.
That's a valid comment, just as mine was.
We do talk about other things than simply photography on this site; that makes it a rich and interesting forum. We have had polls on what cars we drive, where we live, what jobs we do, which cigars we smoke, the whisky that we drink.
None of those topics are directly related to rangefinder photography but they do bring a sense of the richness and diversity of the people that post here.

Ernst, only those who have not had an intimate relationship with a drunk find them interesting.
Hi; I just couldnīt leave this unnoticed:
I seem to remember that yesterday you were a bold defender of forum rules, sir?
Rule No. 1 - No "Flaming"
1) You will not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.
I happen to count a few dry drunks among my friends. Even a couple of good photographers. Good people

I can only guess that you didn't read my earlier post. I don't recall stating at any point that I found alcoholics to be interesting.
However, having loved one, having lived with and through her problems and having cared for her deeply, I can understand some of the sentiment behind the original question.
I guess that I'm asking for some suspension of judgement here and a demonstration of some tolerance of the fact that we have a diverse background.
