which bag might end up being best for me?
Contents:
film,
leica m4-2 with nikkor 85/3
leica m3 with summaron
canon 50/1.2 lens
rolleiflex with hood and filter kit
my backpack just isn't cutting anymore for me --
I don't want volvo boxiness either -- I want my gear protected and snug...
what are my options (this kit could grow or shrink at any moment)
Billingham Hadley works well on the M's. Lowe Pros work just as well. I sling the Rolleiflex around my neck, sans case. Meter, film, and filters in my pocket. Age takes care of a lot of things. The older I get the more minimalist I become.

Memphis- just get the Domke F2. My usual walking around kit is 2 M bodies w/50 & 28 or 35 with an 80 and sometimes a T2, or the 25. I shoot a lot of film, so lots of that. Plenty of room and it hugs your side. Nothing falls out- ever, and the inserts can make for much customization if you want/need. I carry this bag an awful lot and love it. The inserts are what make these bags so versitile- I can carry one body and tons of lenses or three bodies with lenses attached and more lenses, used this bag with a Pentax 67 kit for a while, and it also works great to carry my LF lenses on boards.

I agree.
Domke F2 is the best bag ever. Or alternatively, look at the Domke line and pick what fits best.

without the tlr i would vote for the domke f6.
i love that bag.
I just discovered the Vanguard bags, I think it's a new line of bags and backpacks they are putting out. It's quite solid, very comfy to cary and I love how it converts to a very easy to cary backpack. The only thing I am not sure about is the shoulder pad, which is too soft for me and it attaches to the shoulder strap in a not-so-solid way. Here are some pics of the Arlen 23 shoulder bag I just got for my G2 kit. Their website is at: http://www.vanguardusa.com/arlen.htm
