Can anyone tell me what the cassettes on the right are for? I know the one on the left is Leica, but I don't recognise the two on the right.

Canon also made cassettes, said to have been excellent.

They look like some Russian ones that I have with a FED symbol on them - I have never yet found a camera that they fit though.

They usually come in early 1950's Kievs. If you ever got an untouched one there would be one on each side. You'd wind the film directly into the 2nd spool and you wouldn't have to rewind. There's a diagram in the original Russian manuals.

I think that they fit a Contax or Kiev. They look just the ones that I have for the Contax. Old Nikon cassettes are very similar, too

From the right probably

Kiev, Zorki5, and either M or LTM leica. it is difficult to say as the distinguishing features are hidden.

The Kiev ones won't fit a Zorki5, I keep meaning to do a compatibility check.

There are also two versions of the Leica casette: one for screw-mount cameras and one for M's. If you've ever put a modern film cassette in a screw-mount camera, you'll notice that the image intrudes into the sprocket holes at the top of the image (bottom of the camera). The re-loadable screw-mount cassette fixes this. Nikon also made a cassette, although you won't be surprised by this if you've already read the above messages in this thread.

OK, I think they are for Contax, at least DAG has some listed as such amongst his spare parts.

Does anyone want them - free if you pay postage? They only have plastic centre spools, not the proper metal spools. One did have a metal spool but it, umm, had an accident! :o
