I'll be taking a break from RFs for a short while...recently bought a Pentax DSLR & will be bringing it to NY in a week's time. Must say though that shooting RFs/film exclusively for the past year redeveloped the non-machine gun discipline I had prior to the immediacy of digital. This Pentax gets treated pretty much like an RF: zone focus, f 5.6-11, iso 400, meter off a middle gray area, click (or rather a "sha-clak"). But man it's much larger. I already feel self-conscious with the M at times... this thing's a beast compared to it.
* thought I'd ramble before hitting the sack *

Cheers.

Good luck with the Pentax dSLR, jky! I have one too but I'm definitely more comfortable with an older Pentax where I can understand the user interface!

One trick to keeping your digi shooting focused is to use smaller storage cards -- when shooting raw they hold about a roll of film's worth of images. (But keep a large card in reserve in case you need it)

Heh, thats the one thing i hate about these new DSLR and their lenses!

Not a single one has a darn focusing scale on it. Really annoying!

My sentiments exactly! Want to make pros and advanced amateurs happy? Spend a little more change, Mr. DSLR manufacturer and put a scale on them!

To be fair, this has been going on since the introduction of AF film SLRs.. I've never seen a decent DOF scale on any AF lens..
