M8 and 50mm Summicron f/2

I am on the verge of buying an M8, but am concerned that the manual (which I downloaded from Leica) states that the 50mm Summicron f/2 lens with close focusing is incompatible with the M8. Does this mean a new lens is incompatible? Or was there some earlier version of the lens that is incompatible.

No, it only means that the 50mm Summicron DR can't be mounted on the M8. All other 50mm Summicrons are 100% "compatible".
