M8 and Capture One vs Photoshop CS2?

I recently purchased a new M8, and I am not sure if I should be using the Capture One software for RAW conversion vs the Camera Raw plug-in from Photoshop CS2. I note that Capture One has an "M8 Generic" profile.

If I bring the file from Capture One into Photoshop CS2 with the "M8 Generic Profile", what should be my photoshop color setting when printing on an epson 2200?

I have been using Adobe 1998 color settings in photoshop for film I have scanned in the past. Should I be doing something different with the M8?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

There are more profiles; look on the Leica User Forum to download them. General opinion is that C1LE with just a touch of (any) PS processing is more than enough for M8 files. If properly exposed, this camera needs very little postprocessing.
BTW, the C1 profiles are RAW developing profiles, they are not printing profiles. There you should use the workflow you have been using before. Just convert your files from C1 into PS at 16 bit TIFF and proceed from there. The C1 RAW converter is better than the Adobe one.

C1 is a RAW converter, better than Adobe's raw converter IMHO, which prepares jpg and tiff formats. Color space is the same. It really shines when you do batch processing and in combination with iView asset management software. I use Photoshop for final tweaking after converting to jpg in C1.

Assuming you exported the C1 file to PS in TIFF 16 bit aRGB as is best, you should do all your PS work in that format and space, but convert to 8 bits and to sRGB Jpeg amx quality before outputting to the printer and let the printer driver use its standard profile. You might be pleased with the result.

I have not tried capture one either. Been a long time PhotoShop user and I guess I am stubborn but wanting to try Capture One.

Any setting to start with?

Also is Capture One good with Vista?

My LE version, supplied by Leica, will not work with Vista

You can download a later version of Capture One LE from http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Downloads/COforWIN.aspx and use the same license key. (You need to run the installation in compability mode)
