"I don't have an M8, so I don't have any IR filters" count?

Why not do this as an actual voting poll?

I haven't yet requested mine.

I use my M8 in black and white a lot ... but am being seduced slowly by it's ability to render colour ... so things may change.

I have not used an IR filter yet. :)

All the time except when using the Nokton 50 or the Summarit for which I do not have filters.

As the M8 is a somewhat manual camera, I thought it would be fun to have a manual poll! <vbg>

Because I have a M4 and M6 I don't need an IR filter:)

What a shame, a M8 needs to have the use of an IR filer...!

Then you have paid too much for your lenses!:bang:

All the time, except for the 15mm Voigtländer.

100% of the time.

The 21 & 75 Leica lenses wear Leica filters.

15, 28, 35, 50 (x2), 90 all wear or share B+W 486 filters. (When my 35 Summicron gets back from Leica 6-bit encoding, I'll buy it a Leica UV/IR filter too.)

All my leica lenses are not 6-bit coded, should I still mount the UVIR filters to my lenses?
If yes, should I turn on the "lens detection" option in the manuel to "enablee + UVIR filter"?

Thanks!

Even when you shoot Black and White?

Yes. I believe in the theory of an overlaid out-of-focus IR image impairing sharpness...

All lenses longer than 35. The lens detection option has no function in this case. You can use shorter lenses filtered, but you will have to correct in post using cornerfix.

Only have one filter for my 35mm Summicron and 15mm CV. I always regret not having the IR filter on. Maybe if I shot nudes exclusively...

It's 100 days and I'm waiting for my filters from Leica.

It took me 7 months to receive a E67 IR filter and 8 months to receive a tri-Elmar lens.

I requested my filters on May 2nd. I emailed today to ask when then might arrive.

Ms. Brand-Gerheim replied promptly and said that I should expect them to be delivered today.

And they were.

All of the time.

Especially on the Noctilux which is used mainly for night time/ indoor/ artificial light shots (night clubs/ bars restaurants - IR central!).

All the time. I'm with Jaap, B&W is sharper with them than without them. The IR may lighten dark clothing a bit, but it makes faces pasty and slightly unsharp.
