Hi,

I have been looking for some spare take-up spools for my IIIf's; anybody try these (fleabay user mvd0807)?

Any other sources of spools? I live in mortal fear of dropping a spool off of a cliff-side railing or down a sewer grate...

If the FED fit a Leica, try this guy. I've always had good luck with him.

At his price you can drop one a week for a month or so.

While my Zorki 1C's spool did go into my IIIc, the base plate would not shut. It appears that spools are not entirely compatible.

I'm walking on unknown ground now, but here goes.
Could this have to do with the Leica's spool having one end be spring-loaded? Does the Fed/Zorki spool have this 'feature,' or are they fully rigid?

The Zorki spool is not spring loaded, nor were the two I used with the IIIc. The one I had with an M3, was. It probably has more to do with the length and diameter of the shaft that comes down from the wind-on knob.
