Hey I seem to have struck a peculiar dilemma, I recently ordered a luigi case for my M8 with the built in grip, well it came yesterday and my excitement quickly turned to "Oh Crap" when I realized I've been using the M8 grip for so long that I can't find the original plate that I would need to use the M8 case.

Any grip users want to sell their base plate? or can I buy one anywhere? I've torn my house inside out and really don't want to buy one but the luigi case is so nice and soft...

Damn.

Isn't amazing how little accessories like this go astray. I'm still looking for the body cap to my new MP3. I know it's in the house. I never took it out. It must be with all the singleton socks lost in the wash.

I also have a missing voigtlander nokton lens cap that I have no idea where it could of gone because I don't think it ever left my room. It was gone in a matter of hours.

But this baseplate is very troubling and driving me crazy!

No the baseplate will hide until you sell the case... It does not want to be a leather fetish person...

Just did a wash the other day at the laundromat. The place was empty. Six pairs of socks went in the machine, along with other items of clothing. The clothing and one sock came out. Go figure.

Use following technique:
1) Procure shoebox
2) dump any unused Leica goodie in the shoebox

Is the plate in your M8 box or possibly the grip box? Or did you throw them away?

I just checked the Grip box...no dice.

Hm! I'm going to grab a shoe box and start organizing my findings.

I did that. Now, where's the shoe box?

I left mine on the original grip box. Can't imagine loosing it. I keep any loose parts in a zip lock.

Best of luck, you got to find it!

I can't imagine you lost it. You'll probably find it when not looking. Meantime you can dream how beautiful that Luigi case looks on your M8.

BTW I bought a brown Luigi last week off this site. Yes, love that leather smell and it looks great on my MP. Worth every cent.

You should post a pic of your M8 is the Luigi case, just to have a record that you found the plate!

I love it, I don't even notice the size anymore and I do most of my shooting in low light. It's a good lens though, I've been very impressed with the CV glass I've used.
