The page you linked to has an interesting discussion of the blurring qualities of the Zeiss lens. I find bokey (a pseudo-Japanese term I intentionally Americanize, to illustrate modern, internet based photographer's fascination with the concept) to be over-rated as a photographic concept. The notion of 'good bokey vs bad bokey' can be as hotly discussed as any of the modern photographic dichotomies.
It all comes down to the image itself. Over-analysis is usually of little help in reproducing the effect of any particular photo.
Wowow that's great news ... now my MX wants new wives (35/50/85) :-)
Thanks Jari !
That Pentax K10D looks more and more promising :-)

Great! I guess this means the Pentax MX stays :bang:
Socke: Yeah, but don't expect the same images that you get from the G.
I bought the Zeiss 50 1.4 in Nikon mount, hoping it would give me G quality on an SLR... close, but not the same.

I like the Zeiss site, very clean, very clean...Except the R1 page doesn't work...has that camera been discontinued? Looks like there could be room for another high-end Zeiss digital thingy.
It would be a bad investment since SLR lenses depreciate quickly whereas RF lenses keep their value. This fact should be taken into account by Zeiss when they market such lenses. I suggest a 40% price cut.

maybe Zeiss will introduce these lenses in OM mount someday.
A more practical approach would be to introduce the Zeiss lenses in Tamron adaptall mounts. This way, we can enjoy the lenses with many different systems.

By almost i mean that Cosina makes some Zeiss branded stuff too..

Spending money on photo gear isn't supposed to be an investment - if you want an investment, buy stocks!
You are absolutely right Alan.

A camera store near me has a new old stock Pentax K1000 on display, and I'm tempted to get it.

Alan,
I did not mean it that way; the "investment" is in the sense of getting the most for your money. :D

 I dont get the rationale behind this. why would Biogon T* 2/35 ZM hold its value against time any better than Distagon T* 2/35 ZF ?
I really would like to know, as am planning buy my first ZF lens for my F100 soon :)

I'm safe unless they come out with a set of ZE(os) lenses... ;)
