My upcoming trip to Istanbul, and my rather extensive shooting with my M2 in the last couple of months, have prompted me to get some straps. For me the obvious option was to visit Gordon Coale's strap shop ( http://www.electricedge.com/gordy_s_straps/ ) and get me a couple of straps.

They're great. Sturdy, leather, well-made. I now feel safe carrying my R-D1 and M2 around without neck straps. The weight (even with very good Op/Tech straps) was giving my pain after a long day shooting.

Anyway, see how they look. :)

That is a vinyl Japanesque Gold cover from Aki Asahi. :)

uuuh, nice covering on the M2! :) and the strap is of the right colour for it.

(but I don't like straps too much: I prefer large neck straps)

I never used any wrist straps either, until now. I have some really good Op/Tech neck straps but still I find that carrying a camera from my neck all day isn't the greatest thing. It causes me neck pain in the end. That's one of the main reasons why I wanted to try the wrist strap. And I must say, I find it truly very much more convenient.
