In Woody Allen´s new film, now shoting in Barcelona, Scarlett Johansson uses a Leica M (M8 I think). I don´t know if it´s part of the caracter in the movie or her personal camera.

Looks to be the very same M6 used in Wicker Park by the Josh Hartnett Character..

Or how about the M2 cameo from the pilot episode of the short lived ABC drama "Six Degrees"?

I guess this is the NEW Leica Filter that definitely blocks all IR light so your black dress is definitely black and not redish brown no Cyan cast at all. Finally Leica is listening to its Loyal users. Photography has come full circle. We are back to the original CAMERA OSCURA. Only from Leica.

Julia Roberts used a Leica (M6 apparently) to take studio shots of Nathalie Portman. That's the only appearance I could bring up from memory. I can't tell if she's using it in this shot, but she uses it at some point in this scene:

EDIT: Apparently that site doesn't like you linking to its images. Google Julia Roberts Leica Closer and you'll see the image I tried to post.

In fact, somebody is way ahead of us with this page:

Best of all, I think Ms. Johannsen has a Luigi case on that M6!

Large pic of Scarlett with what is clearly an M6 here (http://img141.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc355&image=88200_Scarlett_Johansson_Woody_Candids_140_1 22_355lo.jpg)

you would think that Leica would sponsor movies like this and give scarlett an MP/M7/M8 rather than an M6Classic. not to say that M6 is bad. i had one and its a great camera, but it just aint the current leica, and i cant see leica sponsoring a movie with a out-of-production M6

I don't think Scarlett's M6 classic is a Leica product placement, if it was they're unlikely to have given her a vintage lens with it. Who knows, might even be her own camera? Cinéma vérité and all that :)

She may even post on this board under a nom-de-plum!

It's more likely a question of noise - a big SLR would be rather distracting for the set crew.

Well if she does post here I would like to see her images, especially as she seems to frame and focus without actually putting her eyes near the camera!

That certainly is learned skill. Besides it is the only way to do it as you can see what is going on your surrounding. You can dodge bullets that way instead of getting killed while taking pictures. If everybody do that there certainly would be less casualties in war photography. Now if they could apply that to shooting there could also be a drastic reduction in casualties among soldiers. But friendly fire might increase. :)
