I just bought a used but Mint Chrome 90mm Elamrit for my Mp. The built in hood seems a bit wobbly. Is this normal and is there a way to tighten it a bit?
thanks

My black (don't know enough about Leica foibles to know if that matters) example has a reasonably tight hood. There's a very small amount of play but I wouldn't describe it as at all wobbly.

I too just bought a used 2.8/90mm Elmarit (black) in mint condition and the hood is nice and tight. The lens has barely being used so it might be possible that it'll loosen up with use. Maybe someone who's owned one longer than I have can comment.

Mines loose enough that if you point the lens down the lens hood will slide out by it's own weight.??? I can't see any way to adjust it either.

Funny that its mint and loose!? My mint chrome is tight as was my user black. I'm not sure you can tighten it as it is a function of the padding inside the hood.
Email Leica NJ. Let us know.

Called Leica NJ and was told that there is a felt ring on the inside edge of the lens hood that keeps the proper tension and resistance when extending the hood and it can be replaced. So off it goes fopr the minor repair. Other than this it looks like a new lens.
