I have a GR-1 and keep wondering about the GRD for a digital option. It does look like a real nice P&S
The only thing that puts me off is the huge DOF it has.

Ywenz,

Can you manually lock the focus at a particular point and change it easily?

Yes, I think the the large DOF is sometimes a disadvantage.. however, these shots could not have been taken in a quicker fashion if had spent time focusing. The 2nd shot was taken in about 1.5sec while I was walking - in true Point and Shoot fashion. Plus, you can always create fake narrow DOF.

Bill: in MF, you can lock the focus at a particular point and it will stay there, as long as the camera is turned on.

Nice. I really want a GR-D, I'm getting tired of film in some ways and want something that I can just go shoot with easily and know exactly what the results will look like (I'm not talking about chimping, but consistency - my film workflow is far from)
