Thanks a lot Joe. snapped a few pics. aaatttrociouss! my right hand fingers
seem to getting cramps holding this thing. I wish I could closeup of to
properly hold this thing. I have small hands, but the lens is even smaller and
the right hand side doesn't seem to have enough to grip on!
of course I am wrong and need to practice..a lot.

That's how all Leicas are, but if you need a grip there are several products made for the M8. Leica (link (http://www.leica-camera.us/photography/m_system/accessories/ergonomics/477.html)) has one, GMP makes one, and Tom Abrahamson (link (http://www.rapidwinder.com/)) makes one.
Also, have you looked at the ThumbsUP (link (http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41649&page=6&highlight=thumbs)), made by our very own TS ISAAC?

The ergonomics of the M8 don't work for me either, straight out of the box. I have quite small hands as well. I use Leica's M8 Camera Protector (http://www.leica-camera.us/photography/m_system/accessories/cases_and_straps/1373.html) and it helps with the grip.
Best regards,
-Jason

Is this your first Leica? When I handled an M8 some time ago, it felt very familiar in my hands.
Congratulations! :)

Hi Fransico, thanks for responding. This is not only my first leica but also my
first rf. it seems to be an uphill journey at least currently.

hey Chris, at the moment it is more toil than fun! ergonomics are better for me
on my nikon. let's see if a grip will ease the pain.
regards.
You may also want to consider one of Luigi's half cases with the built in grip. I use them on my M3 and M6 and they greatly add to the easy handhold-ability of these cameras.
