View Full Version : What happened to this paper?
I did a lot of printing today and I had one sheet do something very strange. It turned pink in the water rinse and when I took it outside to photograph it turned from pink to purple. No other prints did this today (or ever) and I am certain that I developed it normally. What would cause this?

Exhausted fixer? This is not unusual if the paper is not fixed sufficiently.

Pink or purple all over? Not enough time in the fixer, or exhausted fixer, or turned the lights on before fully fixed. All things I've done.

My first thoughts were Fixer...too old or not enough time in it...mine usually go bad if I don't wash them long enough...
Hmm, well I wonder if I spaced out and only had it in the fixer for a few seconds. I don't think the fixer was exhausted because I successfully printed another 20 or so pictures after that. Thank you for the input everyone.
Ronald, the picture was taken at "Niagra" on the South Santiam River in Oregon.
