2 Weeks ago I bought a Fed 1 camera from ebay stated in non working condition. Its a post war Fed 1 from '51 with an uncoated lens and the old style Leica like release button. I disassembled and cleaned everything except the lens. Placed new curtains (im running out of curtain material still don't know where to get is. Made everyting light tight again and reassembled the camera. I measured the lens working distance and it was to short, the lens can't be mounted on my other Fed so I supposed the lens was adjusted for this camera. I was wondering if the lens was adjusted correctly and how it should perform as uncoated. And I was suprised by the results :)

Yea most work real well, try to make or buy a lens hood, a beaten up Leitz one is still as expensive as a Fed.

try to make or buy a lens hood

I used a lense hood for both pictures, an old one of alumium but it fits perfectly. I found it together with some other lens hoods and filters in the attic.
