"Play" Button Does Not Work

I just received my replacement M8 body from Leica New Jersey. The shutter in the first one locked up after 30 days and just under 800 shots. It took them about ten days to replace it.

The replacement is supposedly new but it has a few nicks on the body....although the images did start at 000001.

The replacement came with firmware 1.09. I took a few shots to confirm the camera seemed to work ok. Then I upgraded the firmware to 1.102.

Now the Play button does not work.

If I set the Review function in the menu to 3 seconds, the image will be displayed after I take the shot. Likewise, if I put the SD card in a card reader the image will be displayed.

But if I push the Play button nothing happens.

As I say, this is new since the firmware upgrade.

Does anyone have any experience with such a phenomena or even better a way to fix it?

I am getting a little depressed here. When the camera works it is great. But I wonder what percentage of the M8s are making it out of the factory like the two I have received?

If it was a boat anchor factory I guess it would be ok, but I expect more of Leica.

I suggest you install 1.102 a second time; that should clear up the problem.

I re-downloaded and re-installed the update several times from two different computers and the problem was not fixed.

Leica NJ took the camera back and sent me a replacement.

Yes, I've had it ten days now and it seems to work just fine.

Except of course for the backfocus problem with some of my longer lenses...
