Is it possible to shoot a 90mm lens without the additionnal finder, or it's simply impossible ? Or should I get a 90mm finder anyway ? I like the size of the camera with the 90 elmar. Just compact enough. I'd love that setup for street photography.
On the other hand, anyone has experience with the 50mm f1.2 from Canon ?
90 mm finder essential. I'd recommend a finder like the VIOOH (IMARECT) even for use with a 50 mm -- better than the one built in, and you'll have parallax correction.

The only "Barnack" with a 90mm frame in the viewfinder is the IIIg; as Payasam says you'd need an external finder for any of the others. There are no worries about rangefinder accuracy with a 90mm though, because of the RF magnification
I use a J-9 with 85mm finder on my IIIa - focussing is great with the magnified rangefinder window.
Although painful if quick shooting is in order.
