As of 11:19 AM June 1 from Los Angeles, the Paypal site seems to be down, unreachable for me from two different IP.
Are other people having the same problem?
Imagine how much net disruption would occur if Paypal were down for days, or worse, if transactions were lost.
Wow, makes me stop to think just how delicate internet commerce can be.

Well I still can't bring up Paypal.
Hey whisper, we have all kinds of folks on the forum, maybe a different avatar. That one is a offensive to many.

I have to agree. A little much for this site. But before you change it can you email me a larger version?

loading slow but still accessible...
Maybe the site is being attacked - the security has always worried me a little as we all have our email addresses "floating about" which is the first stage to enter the site -.
Such email addresses are relatively easy to get hold off
After the email log in there is of course a password - BUT internet crooks are increasing and becoming more resourceful - you can see this all the time on EBay.
I just wonder?

Doesn't work for me . . . I just got paid by my stock agency but I can't log on to request a transfer.
Accessible for me and reasonably good speed. 18:33 EDT.

I fail to understand the logic here. If a secure site is "being attacked" wouldn't its first line of defense be to shut it down?
It is one thing to be concerned about security - it is another to speculate paranoia.
Paypal isn't the only thing that "goes down". Have you ever played around with Flickr? It seems to have a habit of falling apart on Saturday afternoons. Maybe that's a heavy-use time of the week.
It can be pretty annoying when these websites go down as being "under construction" or whatever the excuse may be. You just have to wait patiently until it decides to recover again. But rest assured, it will.
