when shooting at high ISO (1250, 2500) and at low exposures, i get this one tiny line through my photos. its always at the same spot.

is this the same banding problem that people were having? or is this something else? always the same size line, always on the same spot, non-existent when exposed correctly, but when i manually underexpose, i get this line.

can this be fixed or should i just live with it?

thanks

That is something wrong with the sensor or sensor circuitry that is subdued on lower ISOs, but when you amp up the gain, you can see it.

That is not "banding".

It needs to be fixed.

This is the same problem reported as the "Vertical line problem" . I have encountered it with my new M8 (purchased within the month) using 1.102 and so have others. The line only appears at 640iso+ and it's almost always in the same place within the frame, on 'each affected' camera. I've talked with Robert at Leica NJ and he said that I could send the camera in for a replacement, but my fear is that I will get a refurb. model with perhaps other more significant problems. I'm going to hold out for a while to see if Leica fixes this via firmware.

There are threads about this on the Leica forum-
