View Full Version : My, how photojournalism has changed over the decades
I wonder how many people think that you can't take photos with anything that doesn't shoot at 10 frames per second at 6400 ASA (Oops. Make that ISO):D Or that your need super auto focus and matrix metering. They simply don't believe that a photograph could be taken with anything less, and dismiss anyone's claims to the contrary. Best photo I ever took was with a Nikon F2 and my Gossen Super Pilot meter. Still got both.
To my knowledge, Nat Geo had been requiring huge runs of pics for features for decades now, this is nothing new.
This gets brought up every so often, and shows how little people understand about how a magazine like NG works. The quality of their "rejects" is probably considerably higher than the quality of most photog's "keepers".
I guess that is part of the "luxury" that NG photographers have when they can spend a week or more working on a single story.
