You'r not kidding. That was an incredible price.
Don't you think it's strange that the seller ended the bidding early... ? Do you suppose there was some kind of deal struck?

I looked through hes feedback rating and it looks too good to be a scammer. But I will say the early cancellation is strange.

Plus here he gives his name. This can be easily checked out I would think.
I can attest to dscamera's (the seller) good behaviour :)
I also bought a Leica from him once, and wrote to him to give me a "Buy It Now" price as I did not want to wait, impatient me. He gave me a price higher than usual bid histories (just about a USD 100 more), but I was happy to get it quick.
Bid eneded early, and it showed a very low price, although I paid higher ...
Erik I think you are probably right and thats what happened.

It says seller ended auction early to sell to bidder at current bid price. Maybe they struck a deal, where the bidder paid more in addition to the $510 (outside the ebay system) for the seller to avoid paying a higher final value fee to ebay (but buyer still got a good deal). I doubt he sold it for $510.
Watchers could see if they leave each other feedback.

Yep, either Saxshooter's explanation or Magus' one. But I highly doubt a "rational" seller let a MP go for $510. If he did, then he should be locked up!

I have to believe that something is not right here...Look at the ending time...Just a few more minutes...normally you will see a flurry of bids at this time on this type of equipment...This was the last bidder not a prior bidder upping their maximum amount...if the seller was willing to sell at this price why not wait the whole thing out...It may have gone higher!!!
The "Lucky Guy" was the seller not the buyer...

the guy most likely struck a deal outside of the auction, this happened with my before with my mamiya 6, I struck a deal outside the auction then just ended it.
Hey mervynyan,
Don't fall in sleep again, and secure your bid with a bidding tool like http://www.auctionsniper.com or others existing bidding system.
I had never loose a bid on eBay with such tool..
Good luck for future...

the seller ended it early, it has nothing to do with reserve price, and i don't think the seller sold the camera at that ending price, the seller is a old timer.
Hmm.. it might not be a bad idea adding dscamera to 'my favourite sellers' and periodically checking his listings just in case I reckon. ;)
