DIY Leica Paint – Phase 4 (Reassembly)

- Well the Leica Paint Project is finally complete! The clear coat went on without any problem or bleeding the white into the red.
The reassembly is simply a reverse process, starting with the framer count window and move my way across to the film winder knob.
As a finishing touch, I added a black Leica logo on the front to fill the vast space on front.

I think the old Volcanite skin needs to be replaced with something wild like a white cobra skin.

Cost Break-dowm-
US$ 250 - MDa (no meter)
US$ 800 - Nikkor 14/2.8
US$ 130 - F to M adapter
US$ 90 - Gaoersi zoom VF
US$ 60 - K-Grip
US$ 15 - Neck strap
Total amount = US$1,345
Another US$ 150 - For a light meter
Another US$ 150 - For a decent CLA

In comparison a brand new ZI SW with similar set-up will run about US$4,900

Good work. But -- forgive me -- the logo on the front seems to have been fixed a few degrees too clockwise. Also, to be consistent (and dramatic), shouldn't the metal parts of the back door also have been red?

I just stumbled upon this thread, so will make sure to read the previous three chapters. Great stuff!

Also, white covering would be awesome! Please post the reskinning process in a fifth chapter, it's something I'd love to see done in detail, so that I will feel confident enough to try it myself.
