I picked up a Minolta 7sII, and have noticed that the corners are pretty soft at wide apertures. I expected that, I'm just trying to figure out if my 7sII is in the normal range. Here's a test shot I took at a wide aperture (probably pretty close to 1.7). Click on it to go to a larger version...

What do you think?

Yes some light fall-off, now that you mention it, but I'd say this is pretty darned good for the 1.7-2.0 range personally.

Cool, thanks for your take, Nick. I secretly wish there was even a little more vignetting. :)

I also realized that this was shot at infinity -- it could be that the lens is optimized for close focus... I guess we'll see when I get the next couple rolls back from the lab.
