A filter in the third, or changed weather?

Same day, same weather, no filters... The third is only one or two hours earlier in the afternoon (time for an ice-cream and a little walk in the village)

How do we explain the considerably darker tones of sky, sand, water?

Different orientation w.r.t. the sun. The sun-facing highlights on the boats then could require stopping down.

What is the stuff on the boats and what is that gear used for?

These are fishermen's boats, those stuffs are wheels to "rewind" the nets

Nice photos, I love the Summitar. Did you use a lens hood/shade?

No, I don't have the hood... I think I could make one for myself...( Round, I don't want that terrible square hood "made by Leica" ! ;) )

Those are calm waters compared to the Atlantic or Pacific. The last one should go on a wall to remind of that day.

Yes, in that little bay the water is always calm...
