Lots of people seem interested in Leica M bodies here. Here is a link to Tamarkin: http://www.tamarkin.com/catalog/products/leica/leicamcam.html

Tamarkin treated me very well. My camera arrived today in a previously undisclosed Leica box, with a boxed like new, but used Leica strap, clean with fresh battery installed and an extra for my bag. Apparently Tamarkin is the largest Leica dealer in the US. They have a great stock of cameras, and quite a bit of turnover in their gear, so if they don't have what you want today, check tomorrow.

Why tnank you Joe, I think.

We have both been home sick, me since last Wednesday, Sammy since Friday. I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow. I will take the Leica with me for a good inspection.

Congrats, Rover. I know you'll enjoy it!

FWIW, thre's not a classier outfit to deal with than Tamarkin.

The 35 Summicron snapped right into place. I will give the others a try later today.

I found a PDF manual on line (anyone in need send me a PM with your email address) and printed a quick "how to load film in an M6" last night, so I should be good to go.

I was hoping to get the sacred grip from Mr Tamarkin but the way schedules worked out I didn't get the chance to meet with him.

Is it a bad thing that I put my Domke strap on the camera and not the Leica one? And, I have to admit to not disliking the red cyclopse dot that much yet.

Congratulations, rover! As to straps, the official Leica item must of course be the proper choice! I finally put one on my Leica M2 after years of suffering with an otherwise nice leather Pentax strap. I'm sure the M2 is much happier now.

The only correct accoutrement for an M6TTL is a black 1" wide Domke Gripper!

Prefer the wider Domke straps myself.
