Here is my latest image that I have posted on MY GALLERY. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=60924&limit=recent
This file is 400x267 Pixels (?) and 148 KB. It just barely made it into the gallery. Why do I get midget images and everybody else gets these big photos. What am I doing wrong?

make your long side more like 800 to 850 and you should be ok.

Joe,
Help me please with my avatar. This is a big as the site will allow me, yet I look at yours and most everybody else's and it seems tiny. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Charlie

you could also save your images as .png These files are smaller, and better for the web.

It depends on other factors as well. If you save your images as jpegs, make note of how much smaller an image saved as "medium" quality, for example, will be than one saved as "very high" quality. Also, if you're shooting B&W, you can save a ton of size by saving your image as greyscale rather than RGB, for example.
You should not save at "100%" quality. 90% should be fine for the web, and will significantly cut down the file size. That way you can upload images with larger dimensions.
If your current image viewer cannot do this I can recommend the very good (and free) irfanview. Site is here (http://www.irfanview.com/)

Thanks everyone I'll try some of the your tips. It seems like a lot of fuss for posting though.
