Looks like the "jittery menu" problem is fixed at least. It was starting to get annoying.

I am on my way to the new firmware now! Seems it is a bit earlier than I expected. I have also experienced the multiple scrolls of my menu when first making a selection after power on. It always stops with no effect. But I sort of feel like its a slot machine in Vegas. I am lucky it stops with 3 cherries each time!

Got my UV/IR filters, got the new firmware. Wow - the M8 is finally THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHEN IT WAS RELEASED.
Sorry that was Leica I was shouting at - not you. I hope the odd "crashes" are gone now too - the ones where you have to pop the battery out and in again to proceed. Time will tell.
Anyway life is good now - I just made myself a Mai Tai to celebrate the new firmware. Ahhhhhhhhhh...
My startup time from Off to S/C seems to be faster. It's also faster 'waking up' from automatic power off.

Great! My M8 is "out For Delivery" which means that I got the firmware before I got the camera! haha!
My M8 and three lenses are STILL in Solms. ARGGHH!

What about us poor guys with uncoded/uncodable lenses? Does the new firmware do anything for us? Sure would like a menue item for selecting focal length.
Dang i left my camera in my office! arg...
And I left mine at home

Seems I got to the firmware download page just in time for a peculiar event. It listed the latest firmware upgrade, 1.102 version. I downloaded it as instructed, but found it was actually 1.092.
When returning to the homepage, I found the link to 1.102 again. The link then took me to download page this time to find the 1.092 version eagerly waiting for my download. Ha.....timewarp with the M8, I have traveled back to last month at the touch of a button!
Anyone else finding the 1.102 upgrade is actually not there to download?
Just minutes ago, I downloaded the new firmware (1.102) and installed it without any glitch. You may want to try this one: http://www.leica-camera.us/service/downloads/rangefinder_cameras/m8/index.html
I downloaded the new version 1.102 without any problem at all. That occured around 2:00PM EST.

Often when there is trouble, it is caused by someting YOU did...in this case ME...I returned to Leica.com and found the proper links and all is well. I now have firmware 1.102 and its installed. I should have been more patient and careful and had a go at it again before I posted my comment. My apologies lads and lasses :o
It seems it is possible to download 1.092 via another path on their website. I just took the wrong track.

just upgraded mine. any other noticiable difference between this firmware and the last firmware update aside from the cyan shift correction for wide angles? what are this internal corrctions that they made?? i don't see anything particularly noticiable on my camera. :)

Might be better AWB. To early to tell so far. That would be REALLY nice!

Hi
I had a few problems getting this upgrade to run. First 2 attempts locked up the camera. Spoke to leica UK and they suggested fully charging the battery first. This seemed to fix it, but there was no similar problem with the previous upload.
First impression is the wright time seems a bit longer. Other than that cant really see much difference.
Auto white balance is by far better with the upgrade. Write times seem to be the same.
