Just won a 1st addition Canon QL17 (1965) It has a 45mm F/1.7 lens and I paid $44.00 for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190098563750&rd=1&rd=1
Hope it works as desdcribed ?? I'd spend up to $45.00 to overhaul it though. Why not ?

Yes, that is were I found the diffearnant versions. Not sure from V2-V3 exept the GIII designation. The specs look the same as V2 (1969)
I should have it by May. (2 weeks). There is a local camera repair shop near by if I need to overhaul it.. $44.00 sounds like a good deal for a Ver 1 QL17.
Looks like you got a good deal on that canonet. Looks well cared for too. Other than maybe light seals, probably won't need much else. Let us know how you like it.

Thanks,
I have always wanted a Old School RF that had a some modern conveniences. Av Plus Full Manual, Fast lens, I have a side mount Sunpak MG-1 that will work fine. I used it with my Bessa R2, and got great results. PLUS SIDE...Flash Sync to 1/500s Oh Ya :D
After looking at my new/used Canonet QL17. I found out it was DOA except the Meter.
Now Version 1 has
1) ISO 25-400
2) Cold Shoe
3) 45mm F/1.7
4) Full Chrome Winding lever
5) Shutter B, 1s-1/500s
Version 2 Has
1) ISO 25-800
2) Cold Shoe
3) 40mm F/1.7
4) Black tipped wind lever
5) Shutter, B, 1/4s - 1/500s
Mine has a mix of 1 and 2
1) ISO 25-800 (Ver 2)
2) Cold Shoe (Ver 1)
3) 45mm F/1.7 (Ver 1)
4) Chrome Wind Lever
5) B, 1s - 1/500s (Ver 1)
So, I most have a transitional model from 1 to 2, SN 578630
