View Full Version : RF20 flash for RF645

Just got this tiny little thing.
Nice, except for the cheesy gold-plastic Bronica on the front.
I don't have a manual for it, though the RF645 manual has 2 pages.
Is there any way to preview f/stop and effective range
besides pressing shutter release halfway?
Is distance displayed in meters only or can it be changed to feet?
Any hints?
TIA,
Chris

Am I the only one who has one of these?
Chris
I don't have one. If I need to use a flash, I figured I could use any of my auto-thyristor flashes on auto, selecting an appropriate f stop on the flash and camera, and let the leaf shutter sync at whatever speed the camera's aperture priority selects. By using a smaller f stop on the camera (or using a larger f stop on the auto flash) I can get nicely balanced fill flash, rather than over-powering flash.
(This is all done considering the ambient light condition and the reflectance of the subject.)

HI Chris,
I think you have to press the shutter so the camera can transfer the aperture and film speed to the flash.
If you PM me your post details I can send you a photocopy of the manual.

If Tamron USA can't help I may take you up on your offer, Lou. Thanks!
Like Frank I have other flashes, but they dwarf the RF20 and will stay home.
I think this little gem will be perfect to carry in case I need a touch of fill...
