Was that the Novoflex 400 + 2x? Impressive detail. Definitely a different interpretation of the "classic lines" of a Jaguar on that first one :D

Indeed it was my Noflexar 400/5.6 with the TEX 2x extender. The sky was slightly hazy, so I had to oversharpen a bit, a few artifacts resulted on the moon. The Jag was in my dealership when I was trying out the Kinoptik Tegea.

Great pictures!

I assume you are using a Viso III? Any problems with the M8?

My son complains that when he uses my 560mm 6.8 Telyt on his full frame Canon, he gets some CA, which I suppose is chromatic abberation.

Has anyone had the same problem with these long lenses and digital?

Michael

The CA is the Canon, not the lens. It is a full Achromat and thus does not have perceptible chromatic aberration. Full frame sensors are problematic, even on a DSLR. The VisoflexIII is a joy to use on the M8. See my macro thread here and the discussions on LUF. Obviously the wideangle shot with the Tegea is not a Visoflex thing.

That's been my experience as well. I have the 400/6.8 and have used it on someone's 5D and my 20D. There was significant CA with the 5D, little to none on the 20D. I found that with numerous other lenses too, one reason I stuck with the 20D and bought an ultrawide zoom to make up the short end, rather than buying a 5D.

Jaap,
very interesting. You have my curiousity piqued - what is this Tegea that you are showing at 9.8mm?

thanks

It is a Kinoptik lens, conceived for 35 mm cine use on an Arriflex 35 mm camera. A forum mate of mine kindly let me use one. Impressive -expensive and 1.5 kg's.
