So that was your post. The plastic tip that pivots on the advance lever on my M4 bugs me too as I would have preferred an all metal one. In actual use I don't notice it. I think it is a common and known sore point on the newer M bodies. They really do not cut a person much slack at Leica forum at pnet. I look but do not participate there because of this.

Huh? I read the thread too. Almost all replies are extremely courteous, with possibly two exceptions -- one of which being Dan's friend Stephen! There are certainly some real assholes on photo.net, but give credit where credit is due.

Yeah, you are right in that most responces were polite ( normal ) but it is ruined by a flippant responce to a person not known to the other and sets the stage for nasty replies. There seems to be a select few on that forum that seem to thrive on that sort of thing which for me ruins it.

The pivoted advance lever gave my wife a chuckle when she saw it in my M6TTL. I considered it a nice detail. Later, when I handled a Leica M3, I came to appreciate it.

Enjoy your camera o0dan0o!

Yup, I've been trying a couple of Leica M4s today, and the plastic tip seems designed to behave that way.

what!????

it seems it's too late for oscar, the dark side has taken him...

did you see the post wanting to trade a canon p for that leica 3f?

maybe it's time.

you didn't let me finish it joe...

I tried that couple of M4s today, and I can only say one thing.

and it is.

P

And I'm serious this time but that's just me, it's all about tastes, you know I'm very open minded for these things and I respect all opinions :)

If you push me, I could even say something else, and it would be

7/7s

:)

The CL is another thing however, but it plays on a very different league.

LOL !

I'm afraid I need an explanation though, what does P T L mean ? :p

That said, they look like great solid and ver well done cameras, AND the shutter is WHISPER QUIET.

They were helpful this time - I didn't mean to imply that they weren't.

I guess I meant that I feel more at home here. Like on pnet, all I ever post is w/nw - I think the advancing arm response might be my first real post in the leica forum - heh.

cheers
