The "Indelible Images" feature each month in Smithsonian Magazine (http://www.smithsonianmagazine.com/issues/2007/april/indelible-cartier.php)is a wonderful feature for photographers and people interested in the "story" of a famous photograph. Despite Mr. Winogrand (http://www.vimeo.com/clip:158007)saying that a photograph doesn't tell a narrative, there is a story behind every great picture.
In this months issue the feature is one of HCB's more surreal pictures and the interesting story behind it. The piece also talks about HCB's new book, (http://www.ursusbooks.com/item122124.html) it seems almost as good as looking at his contact sheets and watching him edit a days take.
Take a look if your interested, Thanks, Jim.
