Hey all of you....i might be soon jumping the big old ditch and going to the states for a couple of months working at the Archebold Reseasrch Station at Lake Placid doing some ecological work. What i want to know is how easy is it to get hold of black and white film, negative developing and scanning. I cant bring my gear with me and i can only really afford to bring one camera....leica IIIc it is!

Also any of the members from around that area...it would be great to finally met a few of you

I am from Naples, which is about 60 minutes from Lake Placid if the traffic is not too bad. Your best bet for black and white is maybe in Ft. Myers, a place called Harmon Photo (www.harmonphoto.com), which will be about 45 minutes from there. They do black and white and E-6 as well. It's a nice place, I have used them. I get my E-6 done in Naples, though and do black and white myself. Here we also have CVS and Walgreens that will do C-41 process and to CD for about $5. I use that for neg film all the time. You can buy film there too.
