View Full Version : two reels/film, same developer solution ?

Hello,

this question may sound dumb, but I really have no clue as I never did this. I bought an extra film reel for my Jobo 1500 system, and for the first time I'm going to develop two 35mm films at once, instead of just one film.

What about the developer ? To develop one roll of fomapan 400 I used LC29 1+19 for 7 minutes. Should I extend the developing time if there are two films?

Sorry for the not-so-smart question  and thank you!

Same developing time and dilution, just adjust the quantities appropriately.

Thanks Ian !

I usually completely fill the tank, even if there's just one roll. I guess I should do as usual ? (sorry if I sound silly, I just do'nt want to mess up) ;)

Cheers,
Max

Never used a Jobo so don't know how big the tanks are, but with my Paterson tanks I use 290ml for one film, 580ml for two. Same dilution and dev time regardless of how many films.

Use the same mix and quantities for 2 films as for one...you'll be fine...do the same for my b&w as wellas for my C41 films...
enjoy!

It seems to have worked wonderfully! I'm amazed at the results of my Contax-IIIA w/ 50/1.5 Jupiter-3... and also soon I'll start scanning what my friend took with my Kiev-2A w/ 50/2 J-8 :D

Max,
So you didn't have to wait until Monday for the 111A ---excellent!:)

Hope you had some fine weather for the test film.

Brian.
