He is having a bad week. I bought my S2 and Nikkor 50/1.4 from this seller, it is in user condition, but it is in good mechanical order and his price was pretty reasonable for the hardware I think. I was turned off though not by the manual, but by the $50 lens cap.

Normally US $20-$25

I doubt if this one sells for $50.

Back alley, you should scan your manual and post it somewhere as a PDF. The Nikon S manuals are not as easy to find as freeware compared to other manuals. If you don't have the software to do this, PM me and I would be willing to help.

Maybe we could get these people to post it.

It does seem high. The seller of my Canon VI-T body "threw in" a well used but useable manual. I paid $15 for an original M5 manual that did not appear to have ever been opened before I got it.

I would be happy to host any scanned manuals here: http://pentax-manuals.com/manuals/range/range.htm

That looks like a very special manual though . . . It says you can get a three year warranty on it. . . .

"Joe, there are four kinds of S2 manuals!! Most common ones have the Xs"

Within each cover type there are several variations -- as the lenses and cameras changed. I have four versions of the X manual alone, the early version with chrome lenses and the later with black. Also there are Japanese versions of all the manuals. I have not seen a black dial manual, and the boxed one I have, came with a chrome manual. (61918--)
OK Fred,,,
How many S2 manuals are there???

Is there much difference from the S to S2 (besides the obvious mechanical differences)?
The Mir site has the S manual for download in JPEG.

and the SP too

enjoy!

Craig Camera (http://www.craigcamera.com/ib_n.htm) has the original for $75, reprints for $20. Having bought quite a few from him (not the S2!!), they must be pretty rare. The prices I paid for the ones that I was after, were pretty reasonable.

he has more manuals than anyone I know, and remembers them all.

Now that's scary ...
