Even though I've had a helios-103 for ages now I've always wanted one of these... I told myself I was through with buying the next 'have to get', but a good deal came up & I pounced. I'm looking forward to it's arrival...

Thanks Joe,
I was originally on the hunt for a Sonnar 50/1.5, but just couldn't justify the cost to myself... I have a feeling this will definitely keep me happy for quite a while!

I really like mine. I have a '53 for my CL as well as a '56 for my Kiev's, and both are great, IMHO. I have a hood for them, but rarely use it, and have not had a problem with flare at all, even at night in bars/nightclubs. I have a black LTM version on the way, for some strange reason
The lack of click stops for the aperture is a feature, IMHO, as it means I can easily change aperture without affecting focus. (I don't know that all J-3's lack click stops.)
Quite a lens Peter... the more I look at the first images from mine from the other day the more I like them. The tones from this lens and the general look of it shot wide open impressed me that much that this pic is now my desktop on my screen.
Jupiter Glow ? :D
